Another meeting with diversity in the Show and Tell items presented - a lidded box, segmented turning, inlay, some beautiful wood, natural edge, and some whimsical turned/carved pieces. And the triangular object with a small [...]
Everything from pens to clocks to spinning tops to cell phone stand to some beautiful Ambrosia Maple - something for everybody.
It's all about the wood. In addition to some very nice examples of outstanding wood and unique forms, we also had a bit of whimsey for this Show and Tell this month.
This month presented the opportunity to see several segmented bowls with unique bottoms and some turned bowls with integral feet.
There seemed at first that a theme was appearing during show and tell, as we had several nice platters and natural edge bowls - until, that is, we came to a beautiful set of nested, [...]
Some really nice and interesting works this month - in particular, Bill Truitt's bowl made from a piece of cypress salvaged from a 155-year-old farmhouse in Hyde County, NC that was built in 1870.
Small participation this month – maybe the weather hurt the turnout.
A couople of the items shown at this month's show and tell have some really nice embellishments added by carving.
Quite a bit of variety in this month's Show and Tell - pens, tops, snowman and snow woman, multi-axis turned LED candles, platter, bowls, Christmas ornaments.
