December 6, 2025 was an especially busy and rewarding day for the Southern Piedmont Woodturners. In addition to hosting a pen-turning workshop, the club also took part in the day-long Holiday Market at the ClearWater Arts Center, where our studio is located.
The pen-making workshop welcomed eight participants, ranging from experienced turners to those brand new to the craft. All were eager to learn a new aspect of woodturning and left with a couple of handcrafted pens – perfect as handmade Christmas gifts. Meanwhile, the Holiday Market gave the public an opportunity to visit our studio, watch woodturning in action, and purchase turned wooden forms created by our members, along with other festive crafts contributed by friends of the club.
