This month for our demo we are going to talk about hollowing. Our very own Ric Erkes will be our guest demonstrator. Here is what Ric had to say about his demonstration: “Sometimes, watching a long hollowing demonstration is like watching grass grow. So while there will be some hollowing, my plan is to actually hollow just enough to show how a tool is used and spend the majority of the demo talking about about the pros and cons of various hollowing tools. I’ll be going through the tools I use for hollowing ornaments on up to tall vases, including how to set them up and sharpen them. I also plan on discussing sanding techniques and how to part off the tenon.” This promises to be another great meeting with a lot of how to’s, tools, technique. There will be time for questions and answers.
