Hello woodturners. The June meeting was held at our studio in the ClearWater Arts Center on June 27, 2026, with 19 members in attendance. This month, the “demonstration” was a power point presentation by Larry Nottingham on preparing the blank for turning a Celtic knot French rolling pin. For this project, the turning part is almost trivial compared to the preparation time spent cutting and gluing to make the blank that can then be turned. You can find details and pictures as well in the PDF of the newsletter.

Last month, as reported in the May newsletter, only one person participated in Show and Share, so a bit of a challenge was thrown up in that newsletter – we know members are tuning, so why not bring some of the turnings in to share with the others? Well, ya’ll responded. This month, we had a table full of some really, really nice works. Just look at the table in the photos below. It was an outstanding Show and Share with 10 members participating, which means that over half of those attending participated in Show and Share – well done. And most of them brought multiple examples of their turning efforts. Download the newsletter PDF and have a look – quite an impressive display.
