Frank Penta will be our February demonstrator.
This will be an Interactive Remote Demonstration (IRD). Currently, this is planned as a Zoom meeting only with the Studio being closed. Zoom information to be posted. If the board decides to open the studio we will post that information but the demo will still be an IRD with Frank being in Chapel Hill.
Frank is a long time turner, instructor and woodturning author. He started turning in 1977 and has since taught at numerous Woodturning schools, clubs and symposiums. His articles can be found in the American Woodturner magazine, and he is the co-author of the book Woodturning Tools, Techniques, and Projects. He is just an excellent demonstrator who makes turning fun.
If you like the look of segmented turnings but don’t have all the necessary equipment or time, this may be the next best thing. Frank will be demonstrating how he turns simple glue ups into complicated looking vessels.
